Astrodeck

Astrodeck was launched in 1976 by famous surfer, artist, movie maker, photographer (did I miss something?), Herbie Fletcher. Having been a dedicated paraffin wax user, like every other surfer at the time, he set out to invent something better. Herbie started experimenting with different creations out of the back of his surf shop in San Clemente, California.

By the early 80’s Astrodeck had become a household name, well if you surfed it was, and Astrodeck started to change from strips and squares into more of the pad we know today. By the mid eighties Herbie’s son Christian, along with other San Clemente young guns Matt Archibald, Dino Andino had started taking advantage of the non-slip grip Astrodeck offered and took surfing to the next level.
