Aviso utilizes the most advanced composite construction techniques and materials and applies them to some of the planets hottest shapes. The Aviso team brings over 200 years of composite experience into this new board technology. The members of the team have worked with composites primarily in the defense industry specializing in Radomes, which are covers for radar or broad banded electro-magnetic windows for radar on missile heads and nose cones for jet fighters. These parts, having not only perform electronically, but also have to be impact resistant to rain and other airborne particulate at speeds over 4,000 feet per second. Guess you can say this is rocket science!
With all this background in composites, it was a natural fit to take on surfboard design. This expert knowledge in composites has given Aviso the ability to create a much superior product as compared to the traditional means. For the first time in surfing history Aviso is able to make a truly engineered product that can be fine tuned with the construction. The goal is not necessarily to make the lightest board, but to make the right board for the right condition. Once a magic board is found, the board can be duplicated exactly to the rider's specifications. |
