From Sanuk
Sanuk is located in Cardiff by the Sea, California, and we are indeed "by the sea". The view from our design studio faces a world renowned surf break called the Cardiff Reef. We have a standing office protocol that forgives work tardiness as long as you can be spotted in the morning line up from the office! We market and sell through C & C Traders, located up the road in Irvine. They have a long time relationship with the surf industry and have enabled us to compete with the larger sharks in our commercial sea.
Sanuk is the Thai word for "pursuit of happiness". It is not only our name, it speaks to our approach to business and life. Our logo is the little gumby-like icon we call Happy U. "U" is somebody you might know. He wasn't always happy, but having escaped from the clutches of mainstream life, he is free to be the irreverent symbol of Sanuk. |
